Ranbir Kapoor, who features on the cover of this month's GQ, has spoken about Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor. Here's an extract from the accompanying interview...

On being a womaniser: "Right now it's like I'm being linked left, right and centre. I open the paper and I'm actually dreading it sometimes.

Jesus Christ, you know? I'm 28 years old, I work hard, I'm fairly successful at my job and I'm attracted to women."

On Deepika: "With Deepika it was just kind of strange, because after she gave certain interviews post our break-up or that episode on Koffee With Karan, it got really awkward.

Deepika must be having some angst against me, which she probably took out through this interview. But I still respect her, I still like her, I still feel she's a really nice girl."

On Sonam: "I really have nothing to say about because she was just my co-star and I think she said a few things which she really didn't need to."

On relationships: "I don't believe in casual relationships. I don't believe in one-night stands. But I'm not really looking to date someone."

The Koffee With Karan episode featuring Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor which aired last Sunday is threatening to spoil the relations between the Kapoors and the host Karan Johar.

The two actresses, who have both been linked to Ranbir Kapoor, took potshots at the actor throughout the show and this has angered his parents and extended family like his aunt Rima Jain.

What Sonam said

Declared Ranbir was unsexy, and that she had seen it all during the shooting of Saawariya when he dropped the towel for the infamous scene, and wasn't interested anymore. She also ridiculed his fashion sense.

And let Deepika know that she found it admirable that Deepika held on to Kapoor for so long. Ending by saying that Ranbir badly needed a stylist and that he is a terrible boyfriend and he can never stay faithful.

What Deepika said

When KJo asked her what she'd like to give Ranbir Kapoor, she said: a box of condoms. Hinting at his over-active libido or an unfortunate incident with one of his girlfriends? Your guess is as good as ours.

When asked to rate him in sex appeal, the former girlfriend put him last on her list. She also said that that if she woke up as RK someday, she'd go back to sleep. She also made digs at him for cheating on her.

The piece de resistance was when she revealed that once, when RK was at KJO's house, her ex was offered a glass of juice and a silk robe by his maid.

Some people who saw the episode felt the two actresses had gone overboard with their opinion on Ranbir. Naturally RK's parents are upset. Rima and Neetu are currently on a holiday in New York and haven't seen the show but they got calls from "well-wishers" from India who informed them about the fun poked at the Kapoor lad.

An industry source reveals, "Neetu was so mad when she heard what the two actresses had said she called up Karan and fired him for allowing that kind of talk on the show." Rishi Kapoor makes no bones about hiding his hurt and anger.

Although he claims he hasn't seen the show, he admits, "We definitely feel cheated and hurt. My wife and sister are in New York and they were very upset when they heard about the show.

Neetu was very hurt and upset and she spoke to Karan about it. We didn't expect this from him because Karan happens to be a close friend but he instigated both the girls to say all those things!"

A disturbed Rishi continues, "We've done so much for Karan... We have gone twice on his show. We even gave bytes for the show featuring Imran and Ranbir out of pure love for Karan.

In return, what does he do? Provoke guests on his show to get better TRPs? There's no respect for relationships. Neetu and I go on his shows out of love for him. He gets paid for the show while we do it for love and affection. Karan shouldn't do this to us or all the Kapoors will severe ties with him and not work with him."

When pointed out that it wasn't the host but Deepika and Sonam who poked fun at his laadla, Papa Kapoor says, "Well to put things in the right perspective, all I can say is that with both the girls it is a case of sour grapes. I have known Sonam's father Anil for years.

All I will say to the girls is: in stead of doing all this concentrate on your careers. Why do you run shows that have so much gossip?

I have done Koffee With Karan earlier with Neetu, my brothers and sister; there was great camaraderie and laughter on our show. We didn't run anyone down. I don't think you should encourage people to wash dirty linen in public. You will never see Ranbir running anyone down."

When asked if he'd tried to talk to Anil about Sonam's comments, Rishi says, "What can I say to Anil? Everyone is family here and these girls are like my children. I don't want to get into fights involving my son's friends.

It just shows their (Deepika and Sonam) class. I would like to tell them to stop giggling all the time and instead grow up and behave maturely. They are there on the show because they are their father's daughters and not because of their work! I would advise them to stop talking about their colleagues and running them down."

The Other Side

It's final. Ranbir Kapoor's world tour in July 2011 would have him sharing the stage with Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu and Malaika Arora-Khan. A fifth girl is yet to be finalised. But it won't be Deepika Padukone or Sonam Kapoor.

Says Rishi Kapoor, the 70 per cent producer of Ranbir's first world tour and the lad's dad, "Unfortunately Shahid Kapoor can't accompany us. We've got Atif Aslam instead. He's a huge draw among Asians abroad. The show will be youth-oriented."

More changes

The combinations and permutations for Ranbir's world tour have gone through more changes. While Shahid Kapoor has been replaced by Pakistani pop singer Atif Aslam, Deepika Padukone is no more a part of Ranbir's world tour because Katrina Kaif was not comfortable with the idea of being in Deepika's company for nearly a month at a stretch.

Impossible

The ever-forthright Rishi admits it was impossible to have both Dippy and Kat on board. "Deepika wanted to come along. We didn't want any stress behind the stage.

See, as it is, Ranbir has never been on stage. We want it to go smoothly, no backstage jhik-jhik, please!" Sonam has backed out too. Adds Chintu, "She begged off saying she didn't have a song repertoire to stand on stage with Katrina and Priyanka."

New experience

Giving details of the world concert Ranbir's dad says, "We start off in the UK, US and Canada. Then after six months we'll go for another lap of the tour. I've done these world tours over and over again. But for Ranbir, the world tour would be a new experience.

Not even once, has he danced on stage even at award functions. This was planned so that he could be seen for the first time on stage during the world tour. The complaint of Indians abroad is that as much as they love Shah Rukh and Salman they've been seen performing on television extensively.

If you're seen performing on 300 channels 365 days a year why would Indians in the US want to pay $200 to see you on stage? That's where we hope to score with Ranbir's concert. By God's grace, he does have a bank of songs to perform to. We'll be all over the US, UK and Canada over the five weekends in July."

Munni and Sheila unite

Apparently, 'Sheila' Katrina and 'Munni' Malaika would actually perform a fusion of their mega-hits Sheila Ki Jawani and Munni Badnaam Hui. Rishi Kapoor too would be sharing the stage with his son.

Rishi ain't telling. "You'll just have to wait and watch. The Morani Brothers are in the UK and US to finalise everything. Hopefully, we'll be doing Ranbir's first world concert without any hitch."

Deepika Padukone Is In Love?

Deepika is not denying love for Siddharth Mallaya. But she isn't admitting it either. Tell her about the rumours and she laughs, “We all know how true such rumours are. I'm very uncomfortable about talking it. Let the press write and say what it has to. I'm not saying anything. ”

Katrina And Deepika Again?

Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone have been at loggerheads ever since Ranbir Kapoor and it's been one big game of oneupmanship between them since then.

The latest bone of contention is Shirish Kunder's Joker, a co-production between Akshay's Hari Om Productions and Farah Khan and Shirish's Three's Company.

One has to go!

Says a source, "Deepika and Katrina both think that they are doing the film without the other knowing about it. Katrina had spoken to Akshay during the shooting of Farah's Tees Maar Khan and has taken it for granted that she is doing Joker.

Deepika's inclusion in the casting is a recent development and she suits the script better. Akki is in a dilemma and is tearing his hair out figuring out the best way to tell one of the girls to take a walk."

Making it happen

Akshay's dilemma stems from the fact that while he's close to Katrina (they're a popular pair and have delivered several hits), Deepika is going out of her way to be accommodating in giving her dates.

The source adds, "Akshay has given his dates for January and Deepika can offer her dates for the month as well."

What's at stake

While Deepika is ready to negotiate her price as well, things have worked out for Katrina as well with the Dostana schedule being postponed to March. She too will be available in January. The trouble is Akki doesn't want to hurt either girl's feelings. The role is a very glamorous one and not being chosen would hurt either's prospects."

And that's why...

The source adds that, "That's why Katrina was upset about reports of Akki and her having a fallout. Kat wants the world to know that she's still very close to him."

Says Shirish, "We are in the process of casting the female lead opposite Akshay for Joker. Top names are being considered. It is a performance- oriented role. Akshay and I will take the final call in a week." Akshay remained unavailable for comment.

Salman Khan Is Going To Be Bodyguard of Deepika Padukone

If all goes well, then Salman Khan may turn out to be the bodyguard of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone!

Don't get confused, he is very much into acting and it will be for the sake of a film only. There is a speculation that the Hindi remake of the South Indian director Siddique's Malayalam film Bodyguard, will be cast will Deepika Padukone opposite the Wanted star Salman Khan.

The Malayalm version of the film was released in March. The leading South Indian director Siddique wrote and directed the film himself.

The story of the film deals with a young man, who gets attracted to people, with heroic qualities and follows them like a bodyguard. But, the interesting twist comes when he is hired to accompany a businessman's gorgeous daughter to college as a real bodyguard.

In the Malayalam version of Bodyguard, South Indian actors Dileep and Nayantara were in the lead roles. Currently, the director is busy with the Tamil version of the film, which stars Asin and the South superstar Vijay.

Many other filmmakers approached Siddique but only Atul Agnihotri managed to get the rights for the Hindi version of the film. Siddique will take up the role of the director and writer in the Hindi version after completing the Tamil one.

Salman Khan has confirmed playing the lead role but Deepika is not sure yet. Atul informed that they were still working on the script. He added, “We are still completing other important tasks before we decide on signing the actors.”

Atul said that the shooting of the film will commence on December 6 in Ranikhet.

Deepika Padukone Is Declared The Sexiest Woman Of The World

Move over Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. Deepika Padukone has now been named the sexiest woman of the world. In the latest issue of FHM, the actress tops the magazine's list of 100 sexiest women in the world.

Last year, she was ranked sixth. Dippy outshone Kat who headed the list for the last two years. So now, is Ranbir regretting his decision to leave Ms Padukone for Ms Kaif?

Deepika Padukone Is Not Planning To Get Married Yet

Actress Deepika Padukone, who has reportedly rekindled her romance with long-time boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, has clarified that she is not planning to get married anytime soon.

"I am just 24 and I have a enough time to decide whom and when to get married to. So, whenever that happens, I will let you people know, " Deepika told reporters at a press conference here Wednesday.

Right now Deepika is excited about walking the red carpet at the ongoing 63rd Cannes International Film Festival for liquor brand Chivas Regal.

"This is the first time I am going to a festival like this. Initially I was a bit hesitant but now I am looking forward to meet great people from all across the globe, " she said.

In the past Aishwarya Rai and Mallika Sherawat earned flak for their bad dressing sense at the Cannes, but Deepika is unperturbed and says she is least bothered about criticism.

She has decided to wear a sari, designed by Rohit Bal, at the red carpet.

"Sari is a very sensual garment and whenever people from other countries discuss about sari, they just say one word - wow!!, " said Deepika.

She also admitted that she feels very comfortable in a sari and can drape one in just 30 seconds.

Ayushmann Khurrana Got Frozen In Front Of Deepika Padukone

VJ, actor Ayushmann Khurrana is living his dream literally. As a collegian, he played cricket at a competitive level and even tried his hands at Ranji Trophy but destiny had other things in store for him. He stepped foot into the glamour world but always carried cricket up his sleeves.

A couple of days back, Khurrana seemed all lost while speaking to Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Mallya.

“Honestly speaking, I'd like to forget about that Deepika interaction. God knows what happened to me then. Live interactions straight after the match are never easy. Though, we're connected through a mic, at times you really don't know what to ask.”

One has observed that Ayushmman tends to be comfortable with Harsha Bhogle. The Chandigarh lad doesn't hesitate in agreeing to it.

“Harsha is a gem of a person. He can sense that you're jittery and then he takes charge of the situation enabling you to soothe your nerves.

I'm so touched by his humility. He keeps encouraging me to take to the commentary box but somehow, I don't think I'm made for it. I'm happy being a roving reporter, ” Khurrana sighed.

One man who the roving reporter can't stop praising is Daredevils wicket-keeper and Vice-captain Dinesh Kaarthick.

He says, “He's perhaps, the only cricketer who gets very friendly with us. He's carries his diary and updates it daily.

I was really surprised when he showed me his diary. He's been writing it since 2006. Here, you'll find all his good and bad moments on and off the field. Dinesh is such a professional that he avoids distractions.

Yesterday, his team lost and while quite a few of his colleagues were there at the party, Dinesh chose to skip it as he was upset about Delhi's loss.”

Akshay Kumar & Deepika Padukone Are Doing Like Shoaib Malik & Sania Mirza?

This has to be the most uncanny co-incidence ever to have happened in Hindi cinema

Just when we have Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik being accused of bigamy on the eve of his wedding to Sania Mirza, there is Sajid Khan's Housefull coming up witn situation that bears an uncanny resemblance.

In the comedy Akshay Kumar's wedding to Deepika Padukone is rudely interrupted by a woman, played by Jiah Khan, claiming to be his wife.

When questioned about the similarity Akshay Kumar says, “I never thought of it. Now that you've pointed it out I guess there's a resemblance. Actually I've three women claiming to be my wife in the film.”

But the actual sequence where Akshay's wedding to Deepika is interrupted is too close to the happenings in the life of the Pakistani cricketers and Indian tennis player to be a coincidence.

Protests the director Sajid Khan, “What can I say, except that this is a case of life imitating art? We do have a sequence where Akshay's wedding is interrupted by a woman claiming to be his wife.

Compounding the similarities with the real-life situation which are grabbing headlines is the fact that the first wife's claims are not as simple as they seem.

But I repeat the similarities are coincidental. I wrote my script two years ago.”

Be as it might the similarity between Shoaib Malik's and Akshay Kumar's predicament seem to be a case of perfect timing.

Deepika Is Not Scared Of Kareena, Katrina Or Priyanka

If Deepika is working in close to half a dozen films today, it is pretty much as per the demand of the situation.

After all the need of the hour for her is to overtly aggressive about her work and continue to strive for going higher up in quick time. Reason being that there is thick competition all around and many of her contemporaries are doing well with their choices in their endeavour to stay at the top.

Kareena Kapoor has enjoyed commercial (3 Idiots) and critical (Kurbaan) success in a quick span of time, Katrina has continued to enjoy her golden run at the box office, Priyanka Chopra is following 'Kaminey' with 'Saat Khoon Maaf' for Vishal Bharadwaj and finding a new niche for herself while Vidya Balan is consolidating her status as an actor to reckon with.

Such all around competition means that Deepika goes by her instinct and continue to make intelligent choices to have important, though well spaced out film releases over a period of time.

See, if I am good at what I do, everything will fall in place", says Deepika without mincing any words, "If I am honest to my profession, I will get all the right films, endorsements, and fan following and of course money."

With confidence looming large in her voice and the desire to succeed pretty apparent, she can pretty much be seen marching her way to the top.

After having understood the ways of the industry, does she feel like being on the right track as far as this journey is concerned?

With the trio of Kareena, Katrina and Priyanka being the choice of quite a few when it comes to quintessential Bollywood fare, does she harbour any intentions of breaking through the competition and catch hold of that crown of 'Number One Actress' in Bollywood?

"Really, I don't intend to get into the number business since my work should speak for itself. Having said, personally speaking, the best sense of achievement that I get is when my work is appreciated.

I am making the best choices from the work coming my way and my instinct says that they should only consolidate my career further", concludes Deepika with a smile.

Well, with each of her forthcoming films like Sajid Khan's 'Housefull' (Akshay Kumar), Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se' (Abhishek Bachchan), Karan Johar's 'Break Ke Baad' (Imran Khan) and Yash Raj Films' (tentatively titled) 'Lafange Parinde' (Neil Nitin Mukesh) set in different genres, Deepika is all set for a 'Housefull' innings ahead.

Imran Khan Piggybacked On Deepika Padukone?

And that's not all, we hear that Deepika and Imran's fiancée Avantika also get along like a house on fire and often hang out together after the shoots.

But direcot Kunal Kohli is not complaining. He himself wants the two stars of the film to become youth icons after the movie's release.

“We want Deepika and Imran to look so cool together that they become instant youth icons, ” Kohli recently said.

Kunal has roped in two new budding designers for Deepika and Imran in ‘Break Ke Baad'. Delhi-based designer duo Harmeet and Neha are doing Imran's clothes while a young designer named Ayesha, former assistant to Anaita Shroff, will do Deepika's costumes.

Deepika Padukone Is Falling Into The Deep Muddy Hole?

Luckily Deepika Padukone escaped unharmed. But this has to be the riskiest stunt ever done by a female actor in Bollywood.

It’s not just Kareena Kapoor who is playing one of the boys in Gol Maal 3. Before Kareena even started shooting in Goa, Deepika Padukone was busy shooting some of the most daredevil stunts for Lafange Parindey where she gets into a full-on boys’ mould, riding bikes in leather jackets, jumping over walls and doing spins and somersaults.

In fact Deepika’s co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh is finding it hard to match up with Deepika’s enthusiasm level.

While she rushes into stunt sequences without a second thought Neil rushes forward to caution Deepika and the director Pradeep Sarkar against trying any of the he-man stunts.

Last week at Yashraj Studios things went a little too far. For a shot while striding across the road aggressively with Neil Deepika was supposed to fall into a deep wide muddy hole.

The protective friend and co-star that he is, Neil immediately cut down the daring stunt saying it’s too dangerous. A body-double was arranged to fall into the deep hole.

However Deepika insisted she do the stunt.

Says a source, “Deepika turned down the offer to let the double do the stunt. Everyone in the unit thought it was too dangerous.

Because her character had to walk straight into hole and vanish into the swirling muddy water.What’s more once in the hole she had to be fished out by divers.That’s how deep it was. She couldn’t come up and out of the hole on her own. It was much too deep.”

Deepika insisted she would do the stunt herself. She fell into the hole at the exact moment required, retending it was an accident, and went right to the bottom of it.

Her expertise as a swimmer helped her to hold her breath under water as divers rushed after her to get her.

When contacted Deepika confirms the incident, “Yes it did happen. Who told you about this? Yes I did jump into the hole to make it look like an accidental fall. That’s what was required to make the fall look convincing. I had to do whatever it took.”

Deepika Padukone's IPL blast may not have been quite a hit with the crowd but the lissome lass has hit all the right chords with the Kingfiher scion Siddharth Mallya.

The sprawling DY Patil Stadium played host to the Royal Challengers owner, Vijay Mallya and his son Siddharth and Deepika bloomed in their company at one of the VIP lounges.

The onlookers claim the sparks were flying as the duo looked totally immersed in each other while chatting.

They were so engrossed with each other, that they hardly paid attention to the ongoing match. There is a buzz that they even went away from the stadium together when the second half of the match was going on. The size zero trend, which was made popular by Kareena Kapoor's Tashan act, doesn't seem to be a favorite with Deepika and the gorgeous actress claims to be strictly against it.

At designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil's show at the Lakme Fashion Week on Sunday where Deepika was the showstopper, she expressed her dislike for the anorexic size zero figure.

The actress stated that the Indian body type is not meant for the size zero look and hence it doesn't suit it. She admitted that she was no size zero and she didn't believe in being one either.

According to her, it takes more than the body type to last in the film industry. She would rather concentrate on improving her performances onscreen than work for a size zero figure. Way to go girl! That should be a lesson for all young girls who think size zero is the 'in' thing!

Ranbir Kapoor Wants Back Her Old Girl Friend Deepika

While Deepika Padukone admits she is totally over her ex-beau Ranbir, the same can't be said about the Kapoor lad, claims the latest buzz in town.

We hear that Ranbir, who's in US shooting for his film 'Anjaana Anjaani' with Priyanka Chopra, has been frantically sms-ing Deepika urging her to come back in his life, after he got wind of her alleged link-up with Shahid Kapoor.

Confirming the news a close friend of Dips said, “It was Ranbir who told Deepika that the relationship was off. She took it on her chin and moved on, keeping the hurt to herself.

But the minute Ranbir heard about rumours linking her to Shahid Kapoor, he started sms-ing Deepika and their mutual friends, asking if the rumours were true.”

Though Deepika's dignity dissuades her from talking about her past, there's a distinct possibility of reconciliation.

Moreover, what makes this love triangle interesting is the fact that Shahid is now trying to renew his relationship with Priyanka Chopra that ended on a rocky note a few days before Christmas last year.

The couple has been surrounded by a series of misunderstandings and is now making desperate attempts to rekindle past affair.

As reported earlier, the show 'Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai' on Star Plus will rope two great dancers Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sangeeta Ghosh in one of the upcoming episodes. The two will be seen as dancers in the competition named 'Natraj Mahotsav'.

But we hear that a big celebrity was tipped to come on the show, but could not make it in the end.

Our source form the sets informs, “Deepika Padukone was invited for being the chief guest on 'Natraj Mahotsav' in 'Bidaai'. The actress wanted to mark her presence, but could not make it as she was busy shooting for her film 'Karthik Calling Karthik' and regrets not attending the show.”

“As Deepika could not manage to come on 'Bidaai' as a chief guest, there is someone else who will be gracing the sets.

Hansika Motwani who is very much connected to Star Plus since her childhood days from the serial 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' will be seen as a chief guest of this event on 'Bidaai'. The shoot for the episode is going on today and will be telecasted soon, ” signs off the source.

Two jilted lovers Shahid and Deepika are making waves these days. According to the latest buzz, the duo is currently dating each other and can be seen partying together.

Shahid has also been visiting Deepika's pad quite often. “Shahid's car was parked outside Deepika's Bandra residence a few days ago, ” claims an eyewitness.

Talking about their relationship, a source told a daily, “Shahid and Deepika - both are quite headstrong and have moved on from their failed relationships.

They are only concentrating on their career at the moment. They want to have a strong foothold in the industry and think alike, which is the main reason why they have clicked together.”

Professionally they are also heading towards a new project together, the source stated, “One of Shahid's close friend is trying to work on the project. Deepika and Shahid are vaguely aware of the project and are definitely keen on working together since both of them are in-demand.”

“Deepika and Shahid have met each other several times in the past but they really started bonding after a recent award function. Both the actors also have common professional interests. Also, let's not forget that they are single, ” adds the source.
